What props are provided for newborn sessions?
Maternity sessions are ideally captured between 28 and 35 weeks. This is the sweet spot where your bump is beautifully prominent, but you are still feeling comfortable enough to move around and enjoy the session.
You don’t need to match perfectly to look cohesive. Think of your wardrobe as a way to complement the soft, natural style of your photos. Here is a quick guide to getting outfit-ready:
Coordinate, Don't Match: Instead of everyone wearing the exact same color, pick a color palette of 3–4 tones that look beautiful together (like soft neutrals, earthy tones, or muted pastels).
Lean into Texture: Textures photograph beautifully. Think linen, knit sweaters, lace, denim, and embroidery. These add depth to your images without distracting from your faces.
Keep Patterns Subtle: Small floral prints or subtle textures work wonderfully, but try to avoid large logos, graphic tees, or overly bold geometric patterns that draw the eye away from the connection.
Prioritize Comfort: If your kids are itchy or you are uncomfortable in your dress, it will show! Choose outfits that allow you to move, hug, sit on a blanket, and chase your little ones freely.
Please leave the stress at the door! My sessions are entirely family- and baby-led. We trade rigid, forced posing for games, tickles, and honest connection. Some of the most beautiful photos come from the chaotic, candid moments in between. I’m completely accustomed to chasing toddlers and keeping things fun!
Yes, absolutely! All sessions include up to 20 miles of travel from Tolland, CT. I am more than happy to travel further to capture your story—additional travel is available for a fee, so please contact me for an exact travel quote for your dream location.
Never worry about your home being "too dark"! I specialize in creating bright, luminous indoor images. I bring a professional, gentle lighting setup to every indoor session that beautifully mimics soft, natural light, ensuring your gallery is crisp and bright no matter the weather or layout of your home.
Your high-resolution images will be delivered via online gallery within 10 business days of your session. You can easily download, share, and print your photos directly from the gallery using your included print release.
Because I am currently building my portfolio, I rely heavily on sharing my recent work to show new clients what I do. For this reason, I am unable to accept 100% private galleries at this time.
However, I completely respect your peace of mind and love working with parents to find a comfortable middle ground! If requested, I am more than happy to blur your children's faces for any images used on my website or social media.
To give you the best experience possible, I hand-select and cull down the images for your final gallery myself. I go through every single frame taken during our time together and meticulously choose the absolute best, most beautiful images that perfectly represent my high standard of work and your family's unique connection. You get to bypass the overwhelming task of sorting through hundreds of raw duplicates and simply enjoy a curated, beautifully polished final gallery!
Because my style focuses on natural, organic connection, I keep props minimal, timeless, and classic. I provide a couple of beautiful woven options—a small portrait basket and a classic Moses basket—which are wonderful for cozy, relaxed portraits of your baby either swaddled or unswaddled. I also bring a few neutral-colored wraps that photograph beautifully.
If you have a special family heirloom, a custom name blanket, or a meaningful knit item you’d love to include, we can absolutely weave those into your session, too!
